1. Definitions
In these Terms and Conditions, the following definitions apply: "Service" refers to the legal advisory services provided by Doi Threshold; "User" or "You" refers to any individual accessing our website or engaging our services; "We," "Us," or "Our" refers to Doi Threshold; "Website" refers to the website located at https://doithreshos.top; "Agreement" refers to these Terms and Conditions together with any engagement letter or scope agreement.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing our website or engaging our advisory services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use our website or services. You must be at least 18 years of age to use our services or enter into any engagement with us.
3. Service Description
Doi Threshold provides legal advisory services in the areas of family law, immigration and visa compliance, and succession and estate planning. Our services are available to individuals, families, and businesses operating in or connected to Thailand. Services are delivered from our office in Chiang Mai and, where appropriate, via video conference. The specific scope, duration, and deliverables for each engagement are documented in a separate engagement letter or scope agreement prior to commencement.
4. User Responsibilities
When using our website or engaging our services, you agree to provide accurate and complete information when submitting enquiries or during advisory sessions; to comply with all applicable Thai laws and regulations; to refrain from using our website for any unlawful purpose or in any way that could damage, disable, or impair its functioning; not to attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of our systems; and to treat our staff and advisors with respect and courtesy.
5. Engagement Terms
Advisory engagements are governed by a written scope agreement that specifies the nature and extent of services to be provided, the timeline and milestones, the agreed fee for the engagement, payment schedule and method, and the responsibilities of both parties. No advisory work commences until a scope agreement has been reviewed and accepted by both parties. Changes to scope during an engagement are discussed and documented in writing before additional work is performed.
6. Fees and Payment
All fees are quoted in Thai Baht (THB) and are set out in the engagement scope agreement before work begins. Payment is accepted via bank transfer and major credit cards. For engagements spanning multiple weeks, payment may be structured across defined milestones as specified in the scope agreement. Invoices are issued upon completion of each milestone or at the conclusion of the engagement, as applicable. Late payments may be subject to a reasonable administrative charge as outlined in the scope agreement.
7. Intellectual Property
All content on our website — including text, graphics, logos, and design elements — is the property of Doi Threshold and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our website content without prior written permission. Documents prepared as part of an advisory engagement become the property of the client upon full payment, though Doi Threshold retains the right to maintain copies for professional record-keeping purposes.
8. Confidentiality
We treat all client information with strict confidence, consistent with our professional obligations and Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). Information shared during advisory engagements is not disclosed to third parties without your consent, except where required by law, necessary for the delivery of agreed services (such as liaison with government offices), or required by professional regulatory obligations. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for detailed information about how we handle your data.
9. Disclaimers
Our services are advisory in nature. While we provide informed guidance based on applicable law and professional knowledge, we do not warrant or represent that any particular outcome will result from our advisory services. Legal outcomes depend on many factors, including decisions by courts, government officials, and other parties. Information provided on our website is for general informational purposes and does not constitute legal advice. A formal advisory relationship is established only through a signed engagement agreement.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Thai law, Doi Threshold shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the use of our website or services. Our total liability for any claim arising from an engagement shall not exceed the total fees paid for that particular engagement. This limitation does not apply to liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
11. Termination
Either party may terminate an advisory engagement by providing written notice to the other party. Upon termination by the client, fees for work already completed up to the date of termination remain payable. Upon termination by Doi Threshold, we will provide reasonable notice and assist with transition to alternative counsel where appropriate. Sections of these terms relating to intellectual property, confidentiality, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution survive termination.
12. Dispute Resolution
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Kingdom of Thailand. In the event of a dispute arising from these terms or any engagement, both parties agree to first attempt to resolve the matter through informal discussion and, if necessary, mediation. If mediation is unsuccessful, the dispute shall be submitted to the competent courts of Chiang Mai, Thailand.
13. General Provisions
These Terms and Conditions, together with any applicable engagement scope agreement, constitute the entire agreement between you and Doi Threshold. If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. Our failure to enforce any right or provision does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision. We may not assign our obligations under these terms without your consent, except in connection with a merger or sale of substantially all of our assets.
14. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of our website or services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified terms. For active engagements, material changes will be communicated directly.
